Job Description: Saturday Animal Care Assistant

Position: Animal Care Assistant
Location: Congleton, Cheshire
Contract: 7.5 hours/week (Saturday)
Salary: Minimum wage per hour

About Us:

Autism Dogs Charity is dedicated to improving the lives of autistic individuals by providing highly trained assistance dogs. Our team is passionate about animal welfare and helping autistic people live more independent lives.

The Opportunity:

We are seeking a kind, caring, and enthusiastic person to join our Animal Care team for a Saturday shift. This is a hands-on role working with our assistance dogs in training. While experience in animal care is beneficial, it is not essential, as full training will be provided on the job. Cover shifts may also be available.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist in the care of our assistance dogs in training, ensuring their well-being and happiness.
• Help with daily cleaning duties, both indoors and outdoors, to maintain a clean and safe environment for the dogs.
• Feed, exercise, and groom the dogs as needed.
• Work closely with the Animal Care team to ensure high standards of welfare are maintained for all dogs on site.

Requirements:

• A compassionate and enthusiastic attitude towards animal care.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
• Flexibility to potentially cover additional shifts.
• Previous experience in animal care is desirable but not essential, as training will be provided.
