Location: Congleton, Cheshire

Hours: 3 nights per week, 5 PM to 8 AM

Pay: £80 - £100 per night (depending on experience and availability)

Contract: Permanent, Self-Employed

About Us:

Autism Dogs Charity is a leading organisation dedicated to enhancing the lives of autistic individuals through the provision of highly-trained assistance dogs. We are proud to be the first and only Assistance Dog Programme accredited by the National Autistic Society. We are also affiliated with Assistance Dogs International and Assistance Dogs UK.

Based in an idyllic farmhouse setting in Congleton, Cheshire, our dogs live in a free-roaming environment, cared for round-the-clock by our dedicated and trained staff.

Job Description:

We are seeking reliable, dog-loving individuals to join our Animal Care team as Overnight Dog Sitters. You will work alongside another Overnight Dog Sitter to ensure the comfort, safety, and well-being of our beloved dogs during the night.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Monitor the dogs' comfort and cleanliness throughout the night.
  • Ensure the dogs feel safe and are sleeping soundly.
  • While you are not required to stay awake all night, you should remain attentive and be ready to respond quickly if a situation arises. This may include managing noise disturbances or intervening if a dog becomes unsettled, ensuring they return to a calm state.
  • Report any issues that arise during your shift.

Requirements:

  • Must be 18 years or older.
  • Previous experience handling dogs is preferred.
  • Must be reliable, trustworthy, and have a genuine love for dogs.
  • References required.
  • A clean DBS check is essential.

Training Provided:

Full training will be provided, including canine first aid and best practices for overnight care. You will also receive a careful introduction to our dogs to build trust and bonds before taking on the responsibility of overnight care.
