Our Commitment to Autistic People

The Autism Accreditation process helped us to ensure that the structure and running of our organisation was rooted in an understanding of best practice in supporting autistic people, showing our commitment to autistic people.

As well as our clients, some of our staff members and volunteers are also autistic, so it is very important to us that all of our staff members are aware of what autism is, the many positives of autism, the difficulties that autistic people can face, steps that they can put in place to help with these difficulties, how to effectively communicate with autistic people, and how our Autism Assistance Dogs support and benefit their handler.

It’s important to us that the organisation as a whole is autism-friendly - not just our staff members. This is reflected through the organisation’s policies, procedures, and documentation, and ensures that we provide a service that focuses on enabling autistic people and providing qualified support throughout.

Our Autism Accreditation is proof that not only does our organisation help autistic people, but that we also strive to ensure that current knowledge and understanding of autism is reflected in both the conduct of our staff and the delivery of our services.
